Are you ready to make a difference this Election Day?
This Presidential Election is the most important in our lifetime.
For conservative states like Texas and Tennessee, our work is complete in our own states. We won the US Senate race and many state legislative and down-ballot county races. Now, for November, the majority of races in Texas don’t have competitive or serious Democratic challengers in the General Election. We’ve worked hard and experienced many victories.
So what do activists do now? How do we utilize our passion and experience to impact votes in the November General Election?
Answer: We help a swing state like Virgina to get out the vote.
Why Virginia?
Virginia is shaping up to be the bellwether of all the swing states. Only 2 states have larger electoral college vote count than Virginia: Florida & Ohio. Florida appears to be leaning more Republican than the other 2 states. Virginia is smaller in size, a must-win for Romney, frequented by Obama and his team, polls show that the Presidential race is dead even and, just as important, has a competent organization that is solely focused on Get-Out-The-Vote and is prepared to receive volunteers.
We rVirginia, LLC is an independent group and is financially supported through local Virginia funding. Their website is WeRVirginia.com. Virginians that are active in local tea party groups, and other various conservative organizations have come together to execute a statewide, get-out-the-vote effort. We rVirginia needs more volunteers to meet their aggressive goals of a precinct-based voter penetration effort.
Mix-and-match how you help Virginia
- Make Phone Calls. You can make phone calls from the comfort of your own home to targeted voters in Virginia. From now until October, most of the calls will be to identify voters so they can be accurately targeted for later contact.
- Write Postcards. You can purchase pre-paid postcards (.35) from a local Post Office and hand write a personal message to a specific voter in Virginia.
- Register Virginians to vote. There are 3 NASCAR events where volunteers can travel to Virginia and register people to vote.
- Walk in Virginia. From the 2nd week in September to November 5th, volunteers can travel to Virginia to walk to homes of targeted voters and advocate for Romney.
Here's the deal
We rVirginia is offering to cover all expenses for volunteers once they arrive in Virginia. They will provide lodging and food expenses.
If volunteers choose to travel to Virginia, it’s preferable that they stay at least 3 days.
Virginians will be ready when volunteers arrive to provide all tools, resources and any needed information to efficiently accomplish the task.
